Dr. Junmin Wang is a professor in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and holds the Lee Norris & Linda Steen Norris Endowed Professorship. He received the B.E. degree (with honors) in Automotive Engineering and his first M.S. degree in Power Machinery and Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing China in 1997 and 2000, respectively; his second and third M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Prof. Wang started his academic career at Ohio State University as assistant professor in 2008 and was early promoted to associate professor in September 2013 and then very early promoted to full professor in June 2016. In 2018, he left Ohio State University and joined University of Texas at Austin as Accenture Endowed Professor in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Wang has a wide range of research interests covering control, modeling, estimation, optimization, and diagnosis of dynamical systems, especially for automotive, vehicle, transportation, sustainable mobility, and human-automation applications. He has five years of full-time industrial research experience (2003-2008) at Southwest Research Institute (San Antonio, Texas) where he was a Senior Research Engineer and led research projects sponsored by more than 50 industrial companies and governmental agencies worldwide. Prof. Wang’s research program has been funded by federal agencies and industrial companies such as National Science Foundation (NSF), Office of Naval Research (ONR), Department of Energy (DOE), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Texas Department of Transportation, GM, Ford, Honda, Tenneco, Eaton, Denso, Ftech, and others. Prof. Wang is a recipient of seven best paper awards from IEEE, ASME, and SAE, 2018 Ohio State University Lumley Interdisciplinary Research Award, 2015 Ohio State University Harrison Faculty Award for Excellence in Engineering Education, 2012 National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, 2012 Ohio State University Lumley Research Award, 2011 SAE International Vincent Bendix Automotive Electronics Engineering Award, and 2009 Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Program (ONR-YIP) Award. Prof. Wang served as an IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Distinguished Lecturer (2015-2019) and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society Distinguished Speaker. He is an SAE Fellow, ASME Fellow, and IEEE Fellow.

Professor Eduard Babulak is accomplished international scholar, researcher, consultant, educator, professional engineer and polyglot, with more than thirty years of experience. Connie Yuen is an Associate Professor at Department of Applied Data Science at Hong Kong Shue Yan University in Hong Kong, China. She received her B.Sc.(First Class Honors) and M.Phil. degree in Department of Computer Science from City University of Hong Kong. She completed for doctoral degree in Computer Science and Engineering in The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016. Her PhD supervisors are Prof. Irwin King and Prof. K. S. Leung. Before her appointment as an Assistant Professor at 2019, Dr. Yuen has over 10 years’ experiences on teaching at tertiary education and working on various research projects at different universities. Dr. Yuen’s research interests include crowdsourcing, human computation, big data application, data mining, machine learning and computer network. She is an IEEE Senior Member (SMIEEE), an ACM Senior Member (SMACM) and a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI).

Prof. Simon X. Yang received the B.Sc. degree in engineering physics from Beijing University, China in 1987, the first of two M.Sc. degrees in biophysics from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China in 1990, the second M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston, USA in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada in 1999. Prof. Yang joined the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph, Canada in 1999. Currently he is a Professor and the Head of the Advanced Robotics & Intelligent Systems (ARIS) Laboratory at the University of Guelph in Canada. Prof. Yang has diversified research expertise. His research interests include intelligent systems, robotics, sensors and multi-sensor fusion, wireless sensor networks, control systems, and computational neuroscience. His significant research contributions can be reflected by his original and innovative work in biologically inspired intelligence with applications to real-time motion planning, tracking and control of various robotic systems, and various other engineering and biomedical systems. He has published about 500 referred papers, including over 300 journal papers (over 60 in IEEE Transactions). Prof. Yang he has been very active in professional activities. Prof. Yang serves as the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Robotics and Automation, and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence, and several other journals.

Yingxu Wang is a Professor of Cognitive Informatics, Brain Science, Software Science, and Denotational Mathematics. He is President of International Institute of Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing. He is a Fellow of ICIC, a Fellow of WIF (UK), a P.Eng of Canada, and a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM. He received a PhD in Computer Science from the Nottingham Trent University in 1998 and has been a full Professor since 1994. He is the Founder and Steering Committee Chair of the annual IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing (ICCI*CC) since 2002.

Demetri Terzopoulos is a Chancellor's Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he holds the rank of Distinguished Professor and directs the UCLA Computer Graphics & Vision Laboratory. He is also Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of VoxelCloud, Inc., a multinational company that applies artificial intelligence to healthcare. He graduated from McGill University, received his PhD degree ('84) in Artificial Intelligence from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and remained a Research Scientist at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory through 1985. He is or was a Guggenheim Fellow, a Fellow of the ACM, a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Royal Society of London, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, a member of the European Academy of Sciences and the New York Academy of Sciences, and a life member of Sigma Xi. His many awards include an Academy Award for Technical Achievement from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for his pioneering work on physics-based computer animation, and the inaugural Computer Vision Distinguished Researcher Award from the IEEE for his pioneering and sustained research on deformable models and their applications. The ISI and other indexes list him among the most highly-cited authors in engineering and computer science, with more than 400 published research papers and several volumes, primarily in computer graphics, computer vision, medical imaging, computer-aided design, and artificial intelligence/life. He has given approximately 500 invited talks around the world about his research, including well over 100 distinguished lectures and keynote/plenary addresses. He joined UCLA in 2005 from New York University, where he held the Henry and Lucy Moses Professorship in Science and was Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics at NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

Ouri Wolfson's main research interests are in database systems, distributed systems, and mobile/pervasive computing. He received his B.A. degree in mathematics, and his Ph.D. degree in computer science from Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. He is currently the Richard and Loan Hill Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is the founder of Mobitrac, a high-tech startup that was acquired by Fluensee Co. in 2006; and the founder and president of Pirouette Software Inc. which specializes in mobile data management. He served as a consultant to Argonne National Laboratory, US Army Research Laboratories, DARPA, and NASA. Before joining the University of Illinois he has been on the computer science faculty at the Technion and Columbia University, and a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. Ouri Wolfson authored over 200 publications, and holds seven patents. He is a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), aFellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and a University of Illinois Scholar for 2009. He co-authored six award winning papers, and served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the Association of Computing Machinery during 2001-2003. Wolfson was the keynote and distinguished speaker at leading conferences and universities, e.g., the 2012 International Conference on Mobile Data Management (MDM), and Peking University (2012). Ouri Wolfson serves on the editorial boards of several journals, and chaired leading conferences. Most recently he was the general chair of the17th ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems (ACM GIS 2009) , and the general co-chair of the 2013 Mobile Data Management (MDM) conference. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), NATO, US Army, NASA, the New York State Science and Technology Foundation, Hughes Research Laboratories, Informix, Accenture, and Hitachi Co. During 2006-2015 he served as the Principal Investigator on a $3.1M NSF grant to establish a Ph.D. program in the new discipline of Computational Transportation Science.

Dr. Goldenberg is the founder of the field of Robotics at University of Toronto where he has been since 1982 as a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, cross appointed in the Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering and the Electrical and Computer Engineering. Since 2011 he has been a Professor Emeritus. Dr. Goldenberg is also an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University and Guest Professor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, P.R. China. Dr. Goldenberg has supervised to-date the largest number of graduate students in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (46 PhD and 64 MASc). He has an exceptional publication record with over 8300 citations (128 archival journal papers, 294 papers in major conferences, 15 book chapters and 105 patents granted and applied). From 1975 – 1981 Dr. Goldenberg has been an employee of SPAR Aerospace Ltd., of Toronto, working on the development of the first Space Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (Canadarm). Dr. Goldenberg is the founder and now former President of Engineering Services Inc. (ESI) – www.esit.com, established in 1982. ESI is a high-technology company involved in the development of robotics-based automation and technology. Under his leadership the company has achieved significant growth and a global leading role in a wide range of industrial sectors. From 2000 – 2001 Dr. Goldenberg was also the President of Virtek Engineering Science Inc. (VESI), a high-technology company formed with the acquisition of part of ESI by Virtek Vision International Ltd., a company listed publicly. Dr. Goldenberg is also President of ANVIV Mechatronics Inc. (AMI), which he founded in 2006. ANVIV is a high-technology company involved in the development of mechatronics products. In May 2015 ESI has been acquired by a Chinese consortium located in Shenzhen, P.R. China. Dr. Goldenberg has continued to be the President of ESI after the acquisition until the Chinese consortium became a public company in November 2016 listed in Hong Kong and Dr. Goldenberg was appointed as Chief Technology Officer of the public company. He terminated this appointment on May 12, 2019. As of May 2019, Dr. Goldenberg has returned to the University on part-time basis to work on graduate research in the use of Artificial Intelligence in advanced Robotics, focusing on Personal Service Robots. He also continues his business activities in several ventures in this domain through ANVIV Mechatronics Inc., the company he founded in 2006. Dr. Goldenberg is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE), a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), a Fellow of The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEng), and a Designated Consulting Engineer in Ontario. He is the recipient of the 2010 PEO Engineering Medal for Entrepreneurship, the 2013 EIC Sir John Kennedy Medal for Outstanding Merit in the Engineering Profession, the 2016 IEEE Canada A.G.L. McNaughton Gold Medal for Exemplary Contributions to the Engineering Profession, and 2018 Honorary PhD from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Dr. Goldenberg is a former editor of the archival international journal IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, and a member of the editorial boards of Robotica, Robotics in Japan, Journal of Robotics, Robotics Journal, Scientific World Journal, Industrial Engineering and Management Journal, SOJ Robotics and Automation, International Journal of Automation and Computing and others. Dr. Goldenberg obtained his PhD in 1976 from the University of Toronto, and his MSc and BSc degrees from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in 1969 and 1972, respectively. Dr. Goldenberg was born in Bucharest, Romania.

Ishfaq Ahmad has been a full professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) since 2002. Prior to that, he was an associate professor of the Computer Science Department at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). At HKUST, he also directed the university’s Multimedia Technology Research Center. At UTA, he led IRIS (Institute of Research in Security), an interdisciplinary research center of the university. He has extensively engaged with the industry in technology transfer and collaborated with over 60 companies, and has spearheaded many interdisciplinary teams at UTA and across multiple universities. He received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, New York, U.S.A., in 1992 and 1987, respectively; and a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan, in 1985. His research focus is on the broader areas of high-performance computing systems, big data processing and analytics, sustainable computing, assistive technologies, smart power grid, video compression, and IoT computing. His main research passion is applying these technologies to health, sustainability, and assistive technologies.

Dr. Khan is an international leader in Big Data Analytics (BDA), a key aspect of data science. He has been instrumental in educating the students in BDA at UTD, for several years. He was also successful in writing multiple proposals to NSF and getting funding for experimental research and introduced his BDA students to research projects. His BDA class has often had enrollments of around 130 and is extremely popular. He has also developed a BDA framework and collaborates with faculty at EPPS (e.g., Profs. Jennifer Holmes and Patrick Brandt) and shares his framework with them for their applications in political science. Together with EPPS professors as well as through other collaborations (e.g., UIUC, U of MN) he has brought in millions of dollars in federal funding in this area. He is known worldwide as the Data Science person at UTD by eminent researchers.

Juyang (John) Weng is a former faculty member of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University, a member of the MSU Cognitive Science Program and a member of the MSU Neuroscience Program . His research interests lie in the intersection of the general fields of computer science and engineering, brain science, and cognitive science. He and his coworkers study mental architectures; computational models of autonomous development for vision, audition, touch, behaviors and motivational systems in biological and engineered systems; and techniques that enable and facilitate autonomous development of mental skills. Engineering applications include pattern recognition, computer vision, speech recognition, language processing, robotics, sequential decision-making, and human-computer interactions. He is a co-founder of the Embodied Intelligence Laboratory and was a member of the PRIP Laboratory. Prof. Weng no longer officially serve as MSU advisors, but those who are interested in participation of other project opportunites can send emails to him.

As a senior developer with over four years of extensive experience in the IT industry such as Amazon and DEShaw, my journey has been rooted in the exploration and application of cutting-edge technologies, particularly within the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). As the founding engineer of alltius.ai, a platform dedicated to the frontier of AI innovations, including but not limited to large language models (LLMs) and computer vision, my day-to-day responsibilities involve pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve. My role enables me to work closely with esteemed AI/ML professors from Ivy League institutions, fostering an environment that not only values but thrives on the intersection of academic excellence and practical application in technology. This unique position has allowed me to spearhead the design and development of sophisticated algorithms tailored to harness the power of AI in addressing complex business challenges, particularly for Fortune 500 companies in the insurance and finance sectors. Through this work, I have experienced firsthand the transformative potential of AI and am deeply invested in both the technological advancements it offers and the collaborative ecosystem it nurtures. My interest in attending this conference stems from a blend of professional dedication and a personal passion for the ever-evolving landscape of technology. I see it as a remarkable opportunity to both share the innovative work my team and I have been doing at alltius.ai and, equally, to learn from other pioneers in the field. Dr. Michael Mylrea is a Senior Fellow for Cyber Security at George Washington University’s Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection (I3P). Michael leads various industry and government cyber security R&D projects, including one of the first and largest blockchain projects in the U.S. focusing on optimizing and securing critical infrastructure. Michael has over 15 years of experience developing solutions for complex cybersecurity and technology challenges for various Fortune 100 companies. He launched and led Cyber Innovation Development, a successful cyber security consultancy and has held senior technical and leadership positions working with the U.S. Department of Energy and Defense, Deloitte, US Cyber Consequences Unit, Lakeside Oil, MIT Lincoln Lab, Harvard Berkman Center, and Good Harbor Consulting (Senior Advisor to Richard Clarke). He is member of Washington State’s IoT Council, an NSF Executive CyberCorps Fellow, a blockchain cybersecurity advisor to Rocky Mountain Institute and EXEDEC. He has a forthcoming book on blockchain cybersecurity. His thought leadership has appeared in more than 60 news and technical journal publications, television, congressional testimony and numerous keynote presentations. Michael completed his doctorate focused on cyber resilience and organizational change at George Washington University. Michael received an MA at the Fletcher School at Tufts University while cross enrolled at Harvard Kennedy School, an MS in cybersecurity at Western Governors University and two undergraduate degrees at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a recipient of a number of distinguished awards (Fulbright Scholarship, CyberCorps, DoS Critical Language Scholarship, Rosenthal Fellowship, FDD National Security Fellowship, Top 99 Future Leaders Award). Michael is proficient in Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, basic Portuguese and various computer languages.

Dr. D. Michael Franklin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. His research areas also include Machine Learning, High-Performance Computing, Big Data and Data Science, and Serious Games and Simulations. Dr. Franklin worked for over 25 years in the IT industry helping companies large and small solve their technical issues. He specialized in Solutions Engineering for Fortune 500 companies where he integrated their vision and business plan with their technology and implementation. After over two decades of success running his own consulting firm and helping push the IT industry forward, he returned to his first passion: teaching. Dr. Franklin is currently an Assistant Professor in the College of Computing and Software Engineering at Kennesaw State University’s Marietta Campus. He teaches a wide variety of classes for both undergraduate and graduate students across several disciplines within the computing domain. His major emphasis is on connecting technology with people who can solve intriguing, difficult, and challenging problems. Dr. Franklin is an enthusiastic speaker well-known for engendering passion in his listeners, motivating them to succeed, and equipping them to thrive. He owes a tremendous debt to those who have invested in just this way in his life, so now he spends his days paying this debt forward to the next generation.

Li is CEO and co-founder of Pinscreen, a startup that builds cutting edge AI-driven virtual avatar technologies, as well as associate professor at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). He was previously a Distinguished Fellow of the Computer Vision Group at UC Berkeley and Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southern California, where he was also director of the USC Institute for Creative Technologies. Li works at the intersection between computer vision, computer graphics, and machine learning, with focus on virtual humans, reality capture, and AI synthesis. His goal is to enable new AI and immersive technologies that can make the concept of the metaverse possible, and enhance our lives with digital experiences that are otherwise not possible in the physical world. Examples include virtual teleportation and immersive communication using 3D avatars, fully autonomous AI agents that are indistinguishable from a real person, hyper realistic simulated worlds that can be generated and authored by anyone, as well as augmented reality technologies that can enhance our senses and enrich our experiences. With the rapid advancement of AI-driven content creation technologies, Hao is committed to prioritizing our safety and wellbeing by developing tools to prevent new forms of cyberthreats such as deepfakes used for disinformation campaigns or harassment. Li was also a visiting professor at Weta Digital, a research lead at Industrial Light & Magic / Lucasfilm, and a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia and Princeton universities. Hao was speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2020 and exhibited at SXSW in 2022. His startup, Pinscreen, was recipient of the Epic Megagrants in 2021, and in 2022, Li was featured in the first season of Amazon's documentary re:MARS Luminaries.

Assem Mousa,serves as E-Commerce Tech Support Systems Manager for Egypt Air. Performing duties as necessary to ensure the continued soundness and stability of operations, he supervises activities and staff involved in maintaining Egypt Air's operation impact at a high level. Mr. Mousa strives to benchmark systems operations against international standards. Possessing technical proficiency and strong leadership capabilities, Mr. Mousa manages the frequent flyer systems for customers as well as ensures availability of systems servers. Charged with developing Egypt Air's strategic planning objectives relating to support systems, Mr. Mousa also ensures that related hardware, software and other components are properly selected, developed and implemented. In addition, he is responsible for monitoring systems to detect problems/deficiencies and recommending changes and solutions as he is skilled at estimating resource requirements/implementation costs. Reporting to the chief information officer, Mr. Mousa has frequent contact with all department managers. Working in a fast-paced work environment, he travels to different locations to ensure operating systems and sub-systems are functional and operational.

Dr. Mohamed Abbas has joined as Assistant Professor at the Department of Design and Production, Al-baath University, Syria. Dr. Abbas has recently completed a doctorate of philosophy at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, where he worked on the design of control schemes for robotic manipulators in medical and cooperative industrial applications. His research areas are Industrial and Medical Robotics and Control.

Pascal Lorenz (lorenz@ieee.org) received his M.Sc. (1990) and Ph.D. (1994) from the University of Nancy, France. Between 1990 and 1995 he was a research engineer at WorldFIP Europe and at Alcatel-Alsthom. He is a professor at the University of Haute-Alsace, France, since 1995. His research interests include QoS, wireless networks and high-speed networks. He is the author/co-author of 3 books, 3 patents and 200 international publications in refereed journals and conferences. He is senior member of the IEEE, IARIA fellow and member of many international program committees. He has organized many conferences, chaired several technical sessions and gave tutorials at major international conferences. He was IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer Tour during 2013-2014.

Dr. Sandeep Singh Sengar is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University, United Kingdom. He also holds the position of Cluster Leader for Computer Vision/Image Processing and British Computer Society representative at this place. Before joining this position, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Machine Learning Section of the Computer Science Department, at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Computer Vision at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India, and an M. Tech. degree from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India. He is also a Fellow of UK Higher Education Academy, a Senior Member of IEEE, and a Professional Member of ACM. Dr. Sengar’s broader research interests include Machine/Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Image/Video Processing, and its applications. He has published several research articles in reputable international journals and conferences. He is an Editorial Board Member, Guest Editor, and Reviewer at reputable International Journals. He is a reviewer of research grants at EPSRC and Cardiff Met. He has also served as an Organizing Chair, Distinguished Guest, Publicity Chair, Publication & Technical Chair, and Committee Member (Steering, International Advisory, Scientific, and Technical Program) at International Conferences. In addition to these, he has also given many expert talks at different organizations and International Conferences across the globe.

Yousef Farhaoui is an associate professor at Moulay Ismail University, Faculty of Sciences and Techniques, Department of Computer Science, Asia Team, Errachidia, Morocco. His research interests include learning, e-learning, computer security, big data analytics, and business intelligence. Farhaoui has three books in computer science. He is a coordinator and member of the organizing committee and also a member of the scientific committee of several international congresses, and is a member of various international associations.
